ProBono.id is a technology platform that facilitates connections between help seekers and volunteer professionals. We are NOT:
- Law firm or legal service provider
- Medical facility or healthcare provider
- Mental health clinic or therapy provider
- Professional advice provider
We only provide digital infrastructure to facilitate communication between interested parties.

Legal Consultation
Legal consultation through ProBono.id DOES NOT form an attorney-client relationship.

Mental Health Consultation
Mental health consultation through ProBono.id DOES NOT form a therapist-patient relationship.

3. Consultation Service Limitations
3.1 Informational Nature
All consultations through ProBono.id are informational and educational. The information provided:
- Is intended for general education, not specific professional advice
- Should not be considered a substitute for paid professional consultation
- May not reflect the latest legal/medical developments
- Is not tailored for complex situations or special cases
3.2 No Diagnosis or Prescriptions
Volunteers on ProBono.id:
- MUST NOT provide medical or mental health diagnosis
- MUST NOT prescribe medication or medical treatment
- MUST NOT provide doctor's notes or official medical documents
- MUST NOT provide legal representation in court
3.3 Technical Limitations
Consultations are conducted via Google Meet (online). This means:
- No physical examination for health consultations
- Bandwidth/internet connection limitations may affect quality
- Not suitable for conditions requiring direct observation
- Risk of technical disruptions (meeting drops, audio/video lag)
4. Volunteers Act Independently
This means:
- ProBono.id DOES NOT supervise or control how volunteers provide consultations
- ProBono.id is NOT responsible for the advice, actions, or negligence of volunteers
- Any professional complaints should be directed to relevant professional organizations (PERADI, IDI, HIMPSI)
- Volunteers are subject to their respective professional codes of ethics, not Platform policies
5. Credential Verification
ProBono.id performs administrative verification of volunteer credentials (checking license documents, certificates). However:
- We DO NOT conduct criminal background checks
- We DO NOT verify actual competence or experience
- We DO NOT guarantee the quality of services provided
- Verification only ensures volunteers have licenses that appear valid at the time of verification
Your responsibility: If you suspect fraudulent credentials, report to report@probono.id.
6. No Guarantees
ProBono.id and our volunteers DO NOT guarantee:
- Legal results: Winning legal cases, favorable court decisions
- Medical results: Disease cure, accurate diagnosis, health condition improvement
- Mental health results: Trauma resolution, symptom improvement, mental disorder remission
- Availability: Response within a certain time, acceptance of consultation requests
7. Platform Liability Limitations
To the extent permitted by Indonesian law, ProBono.id is NOT liable for:
7.1 Direct or Indirect Losses
- Decisions you make based on consultations
- Financial losses due to advice given
- Health losses due to delayed diagnosis or treatment
- Emotional or psychological harm
- Reputation damage
7.2 Third-Party Actions
- Volunteer negligence or malpractice
- Professional ethics violations by volunteers
- Third-party service disruptions (Google Meet, hosting)
7.3 Technical Issues
- Platform downtime or disruptions
- Data loss due to bugs or cyber attacks
- Errors in pro bono hour tracking
- Emergency detection system failures
Our maximum liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the last 12 months (Rp0 for help seekers).
8. Confidentiality and Privacy
Although we are committed to protecting your privacy (see Privacy Policy), please note:
- Online consultations DO NOT have the same confidentiality privilege as formal in-person consultations
- Communications over the internet carry a risk of interception (although we use encryption)
- Volunteers may be required by law to report certain conditions (e.g., child abuse, suicide plans)
9. Emergency Detection System
Our platform is equipped with an automatic emergency detection system that blocks consultation requests if emergency keywords are detected. However:
- This system is NOT 100% accurate and may miss disguised emergency situations
- It is not a substitute for your own judgment
- If you are in an emergency, DO NOT rely on this system — immediately call 119/110/112
10. Your Responsibilities as a User
By using ProBono.id, you are responsible for:
- Provide accurate information: Incomplete or inaccurate information may lead to inappropriate advice
- Assess urgency yourself: Do not use the Platform for emergencies
- Seek second opinion: For important decisions, also consult with paid professionals
- Comply with law: Do not use the Platform for illegal activities
- Understand limitations: Pro bono consultations have limitations compared to paid services
11. No Uptime Guarantee
ProBono.id is provided "as is" without 100% uptime guarantee. The service may be interrupted for:
- Scheduled maintenance (will be notified in advance)
- Emergency maintenance (without notice)
- Hosting or third-party infrastructure disruptions
- DDoS attacks or security issues
12. External Links
Our platform may contain links to third-party websites (e.g., Google Meet, professional organizations). ProBono.id:
- IS NOT responsible for the content or privacy practices of external sites
- DOES NOT endorse or guarantee third-party services
- Suggests you read the privacy policies of sites you visit
13. Changes to Disclaimer
We may update this Disclaimer at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. For material changes, we will notify via email.
Paid Professional Services
Volunteers on ProBono.id are permitted to offer their professional paid services to help seekers. The platform explicitly supports the transition from a free pro bono consultation to a paid professional engagement when both parties agree. Volunteers who choose to do so must be transparent about pricing, scope, and the distinction from the pro bono service, and must obtain the help seeker's informed consent.
